It has got to be be quite frustrating being in the shoes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang right now, hasn’t it?
Aubameyang has put no foot wrong since arriving at Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in 2017. He has found the back of the net 61 times in 97 appearances for the club.
The 2019/20 campaign is quite not working for him, perhaps for the whole team in general. Everything seem not to be clicking for the Arsenal skipper at the moment.
As if that isn’t any worse, the 31-year-old is yet to have a feel of Champions League football despite playing under three different managers at the club.
Every season happens to carry the message ‘we shall get there’, but for someone of his caliber at 31, the Gabon international should be battling it out for major honours with another club rather than being fed with such encouragement.

Aubameyang was no where close to being good when Arsenal suffered a 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Wednesday, although he might have been vindicated by a video which shows he had no hand in his no show against the Citizens.
The visuals used by Ian Wright pinpoints moments where Aubameyang tried to steal a march on the City defence, but he was let down by his colleagues who failed to play a pass into his path on both occasions.
It may have eluded many, but the attacker was the quickest to show his frustration at seeing all the balls not come his way.
These are not the kind of mistakes you expect the Arsenal players to be making towards a player whose future is up in the air.
The Gunners’ captain is entering the final 12 months of his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and while losing him may not be ideal for Mikel Arteta’s side, there is a clear indication the player is unwilling to continue at the north London club.
For former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, he believes Arsenal are only prioritising the extension of Aubameyang’s contract for a short-term success.
“If he signs another two or three-year contract, they won’t be signing a player to not only achieve things in the short-term but also make some money off when they come to sell him further down the line, they’d be simply be saying ‘we pay money now to get some short-term success, because that’s what Mikel Arteta needs’,” Jordan told talkSPORT.
“I would be saying to Aubameyang: ‘You want £250,000 a week? I tell you what, I’ll give you £300,000 a week if you score X amount of goals’.
“Let’s make this about you, let’s make it about your achievement, let’s make it about your individual return’.”
