Former Manchester United and Everton forward Louis Saha says Paul Pogba has told him about his delight for the league return while also revealing the desire to partner Bruno Fernandes.

Pogba, 27, has only played seven Premier League games in the 2019/20 campaign and has battled with injuries for most part of the season.

The Frenchman is reported to have returned to full fitness and is expected to play a part in the game against Tottenham Hotspur having played in the intra-club earlier in the week.

Saha said he has been in conversation with the midfielder and believes the former Juventus man is looking forward to returning to action and form a great partnership with the Portuguese as the Red Devils battle for a top-four finish.

“He’s one of the best players in the world,” Saha said when asked about Pogba. “He had a tough season plagued by injuries. He came back very motivated, that’s what some of the players told me.

“When I talk to him on the phone, he’s super motivated, so I really want to see not a new Pogba, but Pogba with support. I don’t think he was supported. Now he has Bruno Fernandes next to him, who’s another leader, another creator.

“I’m really excited about that sharing of the responsibilities, I really want to watch that team.”

Despite Pogba being being criticised for most of his time at the club for his performances, Saha is still hopeful the Frenchman can have an impact.

“The season is almost over and with the transfer market, his name will probably be in the box,” Saha continued.”But he’s very motivated, he’s incredibly talented, he already proved himself, but now he has a better platform to improve and shut down the critics, sometimes justified.”
