Former Liverpool full-back Fabio Aurelio has made his assessment of Andy Robertson and has explained why he has been so good for Klopp’s side.

Andy Robertson has been a phenomenal presence for the Reds on the left flank since joining Liverpool in 2017 from Hull City. His acquisition along with other additions have helped the Reds taste both domestic as well as European success. Former Red Aurelio while speaking to LFCTVs Legends in Lockdown explained why the Scot has been successful at Anfield.

“He’s kind of the complete player because physically he’s well capable of going forward and going back he defends very well.

“He’s quick, so his one-v-one is good and defensively that’s very important in the scheme Klopp plays. He goes forward very easily.

“One thing that calls my attention is that he’s always improving, he’s not comfortable in his situation being first choice. You will see that in every game he plays as his last one, so that’s courage.

“The two full-backs of Liverpool right now are unbelievable. We can contest in any kind of way.”

Robertson started 22 Premier League under Klopp games in his first season as a Red and managed five assists. After an impactful first season, Robertson became the first-choice left-back and bagged a whopping 11 assists last season. this season he has played 28 games in the Premier League contributing in eight goals (1 goal & 7 assists).

Fabio Aurelio spent six seasons at Anfield before moving to his home country to play for Gremio. He was a regular starter for the team but constant injuries ruined his consistency. The Brazilian full-back made over 100 appearances for the Reds and was a part of the Liverpool team that won the 2012 League Cup.
