Manchester United have been linked with the Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez for a long time now. The transfer saga is never-ending. But the Atletico midfielder has put interested clubs on higher alert.
Saul Niguez posted a tweet from his twitter account stating “I wanted to communicate something important to you.” Below the caption, there was a graphic that read “New club. I’ll announce it in three days.”

With Ibrahimovic pulling this stunt earlier, Atletico fans are hopeful that Saul is not talking about an actual football club. However, adding fuel to the transfer rumours of him moving to the Old Trafford, Saul started following Manchester United’s official twitter account along with Manchester United players and legends. Adding to that, he also followed the Premier League’s official account on Instagram.

Griezmann previously pulled this stunt through his La Decision, which confirmed that he will be staying at Atletico. Saul has been with Atletico from the age of 14 and is now a regular starter for Simeone’s side. Saul made his top-flight debut against Besiktas in the Europa League R16 game. Since then he has represented Los Rojiblancos 286 times. According to the Daily Mail, Saul has a release clause of £130 million but the club may be willing to sell him for £80 million.
With La Liga starting from 12 June and Atletico progressing to the quarter-finals, why would Saul make an announcement about a transfer now? It can be an announcement of his contract extension. Or it can be an advertisement related stunt. Or the blockbuster move to Manchester United is on the cards. Ever reliant Fabrizio Romano has revealed that it could be a marketing-related post.
