Former Inter Milan frontman Ruben Sosa has advised Inter Milan to keep Alexis Sanchez at the club for another year.
Sanchez has struggled for game time at Inter and it largely as a result of his injury concerns, but Sosa believes he still has a lot to offer.
Alexis made just 15 appearances for Antonio Conte’s side and has failed to rekindle his old form that made Manchester United sign him Arsenal.
The ex-player believes that once Conte counts on the Chile international and decide to have patience with him, he may come good for the Serie A club.
Sosa speaking with La Cuarta: “I was with him in the hotel where he lived in Milan. For me he’s a great player, with a long career, especially with his national team, he’s very respected.
“He hasn’t been given the right time, he can’t play so little, he needs to stay on the pitch for several games, for ninety minutes. He needs time to go back to be the player he is.”
Sosa added on the potential that still exists in Sanchez’s game: “He needs two games to gain confidence, but he needs to do it whilst starting and playing the full game.
“I’d keep Alexis for another year at Inter. He’s a goal scorer, physically he’s very well and still has a lot to give. He’s a guy who has scored a lot of goals and will continue to do so.”
After enjoying impressive stints at Barcelona and Arsenal, life at the Theatre of Dreams was described as uncomfortable for the 31-year-old who was allowed to leave on loan in the summer.
Reports have suggested he could play a part in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side for next season as they are finding it hard to offload him due to his wage demands.
