Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata acknowledges that Jadon Sancho is ‘great player’ but refused to speculate any potential move for the England international to the Theatre of Dreams.
The 20-year-old has heavily been linked with a return to the Premier League. The Red Devils remain the likely destination for the Borussia Dortmund winger, but faces stiff competition from Chelsea as well as Europe’s elite, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich both keen.
Featuring on Instagram Live, Juan Mata was questioned about the Borussia Dortmund winger, who is said to be a target for United.
“Should we sign Jadon Sancho?” he said, when asked in a live stream on Thursday. “What do you want me to say? We all know he’s a great player. He’s having a fantastic season at Dortmund.
“But you know it’s not my responsibility to speak about those things. Of course I like him as a player but I cannot reply to that.”
Mats Hummels who joined the Spaniard on the session also added, “I was listening to you talking about Sancho! I understand that.”

Sancho has been involved in 29 goals already this season for Dortmund, scoring 14 times and providing 15 assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances before coronavirus caused the suspension of the league.
Dortmund are reportedly seeking a fee of around £120m for Sancho, but the suspension of football has seen the transfer value of players decrease. However, Sancho would want to remain at a Champions League club – something Manchester United may not be too optimistic about.
