Manchester City will have the chance to close the gap between themselves and Leicester when the pair come face-to-face on Saturday in the Premier League.

The Champions currently find themselves third with four points behind high-flying Leicester City after 17 games played.

The Foxes have managed more wins than the Citizens and have conceded less too compared to Pep Guardiola’s side. Brendan Rodgers’ side were held to a 1-1 draw in their last Premier League outing and also ending Jamie Vardy’s scoring run.

Out of eight games on the road, Leicester have lost two, coming against Manchester United and Liverpool which is also their only league defeats this season.

Manchester City will have to first go ahead of Leicester if they are to match Liverpool boot for boot and Sunday will present an opportunity for them. The Blues have won four of their last five Premier League meetings with Leicester, losing the other in December last season by 1-2.

Leicester have lost their last three Premier League away games against Man City, having won four of their first five visits to Maine Road / Etihad Stadium in the competition.

Man City haven’t lost consecutive home league games since February 2016 under Manuel Pellegrini.

Leicester have won their last four Premier League away games, by an aggregate score of 17-1.

TEAM NEWS

Man City are set to have Sergio Aguero and John Stones available for selection though they will remain without David Silva, who sustained a leg injury in the Manchester derby last month. Long-term absentees Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane are both out with knee injuries.

Matty James is the only injury concern for Leicester City as he continues his recovery.
