Alex Iwobi made headlines this summer when he joined Everton in a surprise move from Arsenal for £28 million, and former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan says the Nigerian is better than his Everton teammate Richarlison.

Richarlison has been inconsistent this time round after coming in this season on back of very strong campaign last season with Everton having recorded its fourth league defeat on the trot against Burnley last weekend.

”He was the most effective Everton player against Burnley at the weekend,” Whelan told Football Insider.

”He’s got the pace and ability to beat players and create chances, and that’s something they’re lacking at the moment.

”Richarlison looks like he has lost confidence and belief in himself, and Iwobi is a bigger threat,” he added

”He’s a brilliant talent, he just needs to find more consistency and better decision-making. The raw skill and ability is there.

”If he starts to realise his potential, he can keep (Marco) Silva in his job.”

Both of em’ will come against one another when Brazil take on Nigeria in a friendly match at the National Stadium in Singapore.
