Leicester City engages Newcastle United in what will be Sunday’s only top-flight game. Leicester are presented with the opportunity to stay within the top three and continue their press to catch the front runners.

After the dramatic comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, the Foxes could make it 14 points from a possible 21 with a win over Steve Bruce’s men. That would also mean Leicester continue their impressive start to the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.

Newcastle United currently sit at 17th after just one win and two draws after six games. The Magpies have also managed just four goals in their opening six fixtures.

James Maddison continues to be a fans’ favorite amongst the Foxes and they will hope he gets back in time for the game on Sunday.

Desperation keeps unsettling Miguel Almiron who arrived in January as he’s been unable to break his duck.

Leicester have lost their last two home Premier League games against Newcastle United having lost just two of the previous 10 (W4 D4 L2).

Since moving to the King Power Stadium at the start of the 2003/03 season, only four teams have won three consecutive away league games at Leicester

Leicester have won just two of their last 18 Premier League matches on Sundays (W2 D7 L9) and have lost both of the previous Sunday meetings with Newcastle United 1994 and 1997.

Leicester have lost just one of their last nine home games (W6 D2), though that defeat was against Newcastle in April.

The last four Premier League games between this pair have seen the away side winning.

TEAM NEWS

Concerns over the fitness of James Maddison have the Foxes sweating. The midfielder picked up a knock in the closing stages of the game against Spurs.

Daniel Amartey and Matty James continue to be the long term absentees for Leicester City.

Meanwhile, Steve Bruce has quite a number of injury problems to address. The likes of Matt Ritchie and Jonjo Shelvey join Dwight Gayle and Florian Leljeune in the treatment room.

However, the Magpies will the chance to involve DeAndre Yedlin, Sean Longstaff and Allan Saint-Maximin after they all returned.
