West Ham centre-back Issa Diop has likened club record signing Sebastien Haller with Inter-bound Manchester United’s forward Romelu Lukaku.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side confirmed the acquisition of Hallet from German side Eintracht Frankfurt, who surpassed the record fee Hammers paid for Felipe Anderson last summer.
Haller has begun his training with rest of Irons squad and the Frenchman could soon make his first appearance when they face Fulham in the preseason friendly.
One player of all West Ham guys is familiar with Sebastien – Issa Diop, the 22-year-old has linked up with Haller three times for France’s Under-21s back in 2016.
“It’s true that they are similar because Sebastien is a target man who can also score and do everything, and he also has good speed, so I would say he is a complete striker”, Diop told West Ham’s website.
“As a person, he is also very good.
“He is humble but also very funny, so he will be good to have in the squad.
“I think he’s going to bring a lot to this club.”
Haller coms in with a reputation of finding the net on consistent basis, as he found a way past keepers 15 times in 29 Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, while he also found the back of the net on five occasions in the Europa League.
