Chelsea are reportedly keen to bring back their loan defender Kurt Zouma after the player enjoyed a great season on loan at Everton.
Chelsea have been handed a transfer ban by FIFA and are unlikely to make any new signings this summer. And Zouma’s performances at Everton haven’t gone unnoticed as the club is keen to keep the player at the club in order to increase depth in the squad.
The Blues cannot make any new signings until the summer of 2020 after FIFA slapped them with a transfer ban. Chelsea have appealed at Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) but it is unlikely that the ban will be overturned.
As a result the club is looking to bring in on loan players back at the club as they wish to compete for silverware next season.
The Sun reports, Zouma among five Chelsea players who were on loan at other clubs in 2018/19 that could now be ‘considered’ for a first team role.
Chelsea outcast Michy Batshuayi is also expected to return at the club after scoring 5 goals in 11 Premier League appearances for Crystal Palace in the second half of the season.
With Gary Cahil expected to leave the club this summer and Rudiger recovering from knee injury the inclusion of Zouma in the squad will add depth to Chelsea’s backline.
